Being good in marketing and communication strategies on the football market isn’t really easy. Results are preponderant and the starting of an efficient marketing and communication strategy. Here, we are dealing with Paris and Real Madrid, which are famous club in the world using similar strategies.

In order to be known in the entire world, clubs as Real Madrid or Paris Saint Germain chose to engage famous players. Indeed, Paris Saint Germain, which wasn’t a famous club before Qataris bought the club in June 2011, decided to invest on Zlatan Ibrahimovic to bring more notoriety to the club. This challenge was a complete success. Nowadays, this club is one of the most famous in the world (8th according to number of followers on twitter) overcoming huge clubs as Bayern Munich or Juventus. However, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not the only player who explains this increase of notoriety. Players as Lucas or Thiago Silva, very well known in Brazil permit the club to be known in all South America. Moreover, the arrival of David Beckham in 2013 for 6 months permit Paris Saint Germain to associate its image to the Spice Boy and to bring notoriety from Asian Countries.

At last, PSG decided to invest in football schools in many countries to exploit its image as much as it cans.

Concerning Real Madrid, this club is very well known thanks to all the titles they won since 1958. However, in order to make this club the world famous one, its strategy was to engage the more famous players in the world. Indeed, in the early 2000, they engage players as Ronaldo, Zidane, Luis Figo and

Beckham, who were the top 4 players of the world. They were called the “Galactics”. They decided to use the same strategy since 2009 by recruiting Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Benzema, Bale and others to make a dream team. Thanks to this, Real Madrid is the most famous and the most broadcasted club in the world.

Speaking about figures, in less than one year, C. Ronaldo transfer was already profitable thanks to jersey’s sell with his name (1.2 million in 9 months)
